Member of the British Linguistic Institute

His name is listed in ‘The Catalogue of World Translators and Terminologists', which is jointly compiled and published by the Latin Union and other three international institutions. He has written two books, whose names are ‘English-Chinese and Chinese-English Translation' and ‘Comparative Linguistics' (in English). His translations of many British and American Literary works and art books were published in key academic publications both at home and abroad. And he has translated and revised many Chinese and English propaganda materials for such internal and external organizations as the U.S. Agricultural Department and Macao University.

Kong Deming

In July 1991, he graduated from W ü rzburg University in Germany. As a member of the Commission for Guiding Professional Foreign Language Teaching in Institutions of Higher Learning in the Ministry of Education and head of the National Test Group of Professional German, he has published a plenty of translations.

Wang Shiyuan

He has acted as interpreter of the Chinese Expert Group in the Conference Building of Congo (Brazzaville) and interpreter of the Chinese Expert Group in the Bujumbura Integrated Textile Complex of Burundi. He has translated and published such famous literary works as ‘The Red and the Black', ‘Nana', ‘The Reminiscences outside the Grave', ‘A Shameless Person', ‘Uncle Robinson', ‘The Jesus Came to Flandre ' and twenty parts of ‘The Human Comedy'. And a lot of other translations have been published in many domestic literary publications. Besides, he has written the book of ‘The Western Allusion' (Part of France). The number of words in all his published translations and works has reached about 2 million.

Cao Jianxin

Professor

In May 2002, his name was formally listed in ‘The Catalogue of Excellent Experts and Talents in the World'. He has translated fourteen books by himself, of which ‘The Famous Porcelain in Official Kiln', ‘ The Treasure in China', ‘The Famous Blue and White Porcelain', ‘The Most Beautiful Ancient Jade', ‘The Folk Pottery and Porcelain' , ‘The Mountains and Rivers in Sichuan' and so on were put on display in the 44th Frankfurt International Book Fair in Germany on behalf of the press of Taiwan. What is more, he has translated ‘The Boiling Yangzi River', ‘Selected Theses on Transnational Enterprises' and other four books in collaboration with others.

Xu Shangzhi

He has translated and published nine famous works like ‘ La familia de Pascual Duarte ', the last volume of the Prose Part of ‘Collected Works of Borges 'and ‘The Fate of the Angel'. He has also published such treatises as ‘Putting Listening and Speaking in the Lead in Foreign Language Teaching' and ‘The Indian Nation and Original Indian Literature'. In addition, he has compiled the Part of Latin America of ‘The Dictionary of Writers in the World', the Chinese-Spanish and Spanish-Chinese Part of ‘A Handbook of Traditional Chinese Medical Terms' and so on.

Lu Jun

He has translated two academic works, including ‘The Explanation of Dream' and ‘Existence in Outside' from ‘Selected Works of Freudian ', and three modern British and American novels, including ‘B. Malamud', ‘The Golden Jerusalem' and ‘A Lawyer for the Poor'. The number of words in all his translations is 1.3 million.

Tu Mengchao

He has translated and published more than twenty famous Spanish and Latin American literary works like ‘Don Quixote', ‘The Song of Cid', ‘ La Celestina ', ‘The Life is like a Dream', ‘La Regenta', ‘The Reed and the Mire', and ‘The Kiss of Spider Girl'. The number of words in all his translations has exceeded 5 million.

He has translated and published ‘The Shore', ‘Leaving for Long', ‘The Obstacle to Love', ‘The Daughter of a Captain', ‘The Idiot', ‘The Crime and the Punishment', ‘Rutin', ‘I am the Murderer', ‘The Mouth of a Tiger', ‘The Xing An Mountains Sonata', ‘The Russian Literature in the Silver Times', ‘Chapaev' and so on, whose total number of words amount to over 4 million.

Yan Zhijun

Aided financially by the Chinese and Canadian Governments, he has visited York University and University of Toronto in Canada for the CCSEP project. And he has acted as interpreter in the International Seminar on Trans-cultural Communication and English Teaching in March 2000, the International Seminar on Basic Education in November 2001 and the First International Seminar of the World Civilization Forum in November 2003.

In September 1998, he obtained the credentials of associate professor of translation, which is a title for senior translator.

On December 31, 2000 and April 1, 2001, he published two articles in International Business News respectively on textile and overseas forest development after systematic investigation and study.

When working in Bolivia and Peru from 2000 to 2004, he, on behalf of the Chinese Embassy, attended many seminars and hearings, which were organized by local enterprises and government organizations and was interviewed by local newspaper and TV reporters, which were reported by local papers and magazines many times.
